The name “Jon’s Joint” is both a personal and cultural tribute. In many Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures, “Jaan” is a term of endearment meaning “dear” or “soul.” It’s often added to someone’s name as a sign of love and respect. For us, “Jon” reflects that same warmth—an affectionate nod to Amaan’s entire family, including his father, Naeem Jan, who is affectionately known as Uncle Jon. It’s a name that represents love, community, and the cultural roots that helped shape this restaurant’s identity.


Amaan Jan grew up surrounded by food and hospitality, learning from his father’s decades of experience. Safa Farighi also brings a deep connection to the kitchen, having cooked passionately for years before joining forces with Amaan. Together, they set out to build something that honored where they came from—while redefining what fresh, halal fast food could be.
